What Inspired You?
I had in mind a cross between Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark, National Treasure, and Mission Impossible when I started writing. One thing that I am particularly proud of is how much truth is in this book of fiction. For example: If a character ate at a restaurant, that restaurant is real. What they ate is on the menu. If you Google search the locations, weapons, logistics, and more you will find that they are almost all real. And that’s what often makes a story feel realistic. Of course some fictional elements needed to be woven throughout to tie it all together.
I have a buddy that isn’t much of a reader (short attention span) that I had in mind, so you will find Ghost Operations Division: Search for the Panis Vitae fast paced with little time to catch your breath. If it were a movie it would be directed by JJ Abrams, Michael Bay, and Jerry Bruckheimer.
This book was written by a human for humans. In the course of hiring various freelancers to help with the production we did encounter some posing as line editors and ghost writers that attempted to use AI to perform their work. We made every effort to identify these ones and not incorporate any of their content. Our main editor (Kenneth Zink) is the real deal, and without his help it would not have evolved over the past year as much as it did. Originally, I was going to have each character written by a different writer so they would have a truly unique voice. However, the ghost writers we hired attempted to use AI to write their assigned POV’s but failed because (as far as we are aware) AI does not yet allow a storyline to be uploaded and then create a POV that matches all the convergence points of character plots.
In summary, this took many months to research & write, and many more to beta read, line edit, copy edit, proofread, design the cover, layout the interior for the fully illustrated color PDF version, the 6×9 semi illustrated in grayscale print version, and the epub version. It was a labor of love.
